Bath Kandy- Black Pepper and Turmeric Soap

Hi Everyone!

Bath Kandy (Luxé Beauty’s Bath and Body product range) is no stranger to the site. The post on Goats Milk Lotion and the Garri Scrub Bar may have broken the Internet. EVERYONE went out and got it (thank you btw, you guys are the best- I felt super flattered. The Nicole Code is making moves!).  Now let me introduce you to their glorious Turmeric and Black Pepper soap.

Clearly I’ve gone Turmeric crazy! I cleanse my face with the Brightening Turmeric Black Soap from Fig Health Store morning and night, and I use the Turmeric and Bentonite Clay Mask about 4-5 times a week. If I could get my hands on raw Goats Milk, I’d probably do a Turmeric and Goats Milk mask too. Does anyone know where I can get some in Lagos? Please see me in my office (comments section).

I had been patiently waiting for this soap to ‘Cure’ (set properly by letting the water evaporate so it becomes firmer) for about 4 weeks. As soon as it was ready on November 10th (Yes, I set a reminder on my phone. No, I’m not ashamed. Yes, I have problems), I RAN to the store to go pick it up.

So by now- because I keep going on and on about it- I’m sure we all know about Turmeric’s brightening and anti inflammatory properties, but did you know that Black Pepper is loaded with Vitamin C and antioxidants? So its an awesome anti aging ingredient to have in your arsenal. It also brightens skin and kills bacteria.

I like this soap A LOT. It has a Shea butter base, and a blend of oils- one of which must be peppermint as the scent really comes through. Which is fine by me, I’d rather not smell of turmeric and I find the minty scent invigorating. I really like that it doesn’t dry the skin out because of all the oils in it (obvs), but it definitely leaves the skin nice and clean. It is also EXCELLENT for shaving- again because it is very moisturising, it gives a closer, smoother shave.

It is a great product. I actually bought another bar yesterday (and some Goats Milk lotion too, no surprise there).

Did you try the Goats Milk lotion or the Garri scrub bar I mentioned in a previous post? Have you tried Bath Kandy’s Turmeric and Black Pepper Soap?

    Hi Nicole,

great post on the turmeric & Black pepper soap review, i am yet to order anything from them because i need to go in for consultation hehehe( i have acne scarring on my face & the said face is darker than my skin)
i have been doing the mask now but i am scared doing it that often will either dry me out or something, what do you think.

as to the giveaway, would have loved to participate but from past records i wont win so why bother.

btw, can you recommend a non alcoholic(drug store o) toner for me, i have combination skin, thanks a bunch

Hi Nuella, so sorry I thought I replied earlier. I ADORE the turmeric and black pepper soap, and its for your body so you shouldn’t need a consultation to buy it.

You definitely shouldn’t overdo the mask- with combination skin I’d say twice a week should suffice.

Re: Giveaway- aww be positive and only speak positive things into your existence. There is power in the tongue girl! I think you should definitely try the next one (which comes up soon) and even if you don’t win, you don’t lose anything for trying right?

Toner- I honestly cannot recommend anything from personal experience, but maybe something from Simple? I hear their Soothing Facial Toner is very nice.

Hope this was helpful! All the best xx

Please I need your help. I just moved to London from Nigeria but the problem is that my skin is literally drying up. My Olay range is no longer working. Please can you recommend a good moisturiser? Thank you!
I am dark in complexion( not very dark sha) with a normal skin

Hi there. Ooooh you are in London, so why don’t you pop down to Boots and get some Hydraluron by Indeed labs? There’s a post about it on the site 🙂 It will give your regular moisturiser a boost, and hyaluronic acid is incredible for your skin. Hope this was helpful xx

    Hi Chikito,

Nicole is spot on. I live in London, and will also recommend Clarins Lotus facial oil at night (Lush), and Clarins Hydra quench Lotion and a good dose of SPF30 or 50 during the day… And no, I don’t work for Clarins… Lol
