09 Oct Beauty Africa Exhibition & Conference ’15. The Scoop.
Hi everyone! Did you see my StyleVitae Instagram takeover where I hijacked their page and took pictures at the conference? You should have a look on Instagram under the hashtags #SVBeauty #NicoleForSVBeauty and #thenicolecode for pictures of me being a nuisance etc, and watch out for a post by me on stylevitae.com giving you all the gist about what happened there coming soon 🙂
In the meantime, here’s the inside scoop on the products and brands I saw which I am the MOST EXCITED about- because thats what we are all here for!
Olori is a Nigerian beauty brand that develops cosmetics with locally sourced ingredients (Sold! You guys know I am the Chairman of Team #BuyNigerian). Their best selling ‘Damage Be Gone’ deep conditioning treatment looks incredible- it is made with palm kernel nut butter, and is said to restore and replenish even the most dry, damaged and chemically over processed hair. Yes please! Can’t wait to try this, Expect a review on this shortly.
A brand after my own heart.
- It is #BuyNigerian compliant
- The owner is absolutely lovely
- Their product range consists of handmade organic ingredients
- Everything is beautifully packaged and presented
The products look and smell so good you could eat them (Please don’t). I’m particularly interested in their Chocolate Cravings soap (made with cocoa.Yum!) and their Pure Goats Milk Lotion.
I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the FULL BR range is and has been available at the Dermacare Spa right here in Lagos for the last two years. Biologique Recherché is a French cosmetics brand that is best known for their P50 toner- which is an absolutely legendary product in beauty circles.
The P50 is available in different strengths, and when I bought it from America a few months ago I went with the strongest of the lot (the P50 1970 formula). It did not work out. But I’m excited to try a different strength of this formula because it is meant to be life changing and I WILL NOT BE LEFT OUT.
Another well known brand I have been meaning to investigate. Here are some cool products I came across.
Salicylic Gel Cleanser -Salicylic is a no brainer for acne prone, oily skin like mine so yes.
Vitamin C serum– a hydrating, anti-aging serum that evens out the complexion with one application (allegedly). Yes again!
Salicylic Clarifying Tonic (not pictured. Sorry I was hungry and got confused) – I’m excited for this because I haven’t come across a toner that has both salicylic AND glycolic acid, which are both potent for blemishes.
So thats it! It was a great event, so pleased I had to opportunity to attend and I can’t wait to try all these babies.
Have you tried any of these products? Should I be afraid?
Let me know,
