Drops of Light Pure Healthy Brightening Serum (The Body Shop Haul pt. 2)

Hi everyone! Okay, THIS I am so excited to tell you about. Everyone knows I’m obsessed with #theglow #glowlife and I’ve been looking for a nice serum to give my skin a little pep in its step. The challenge I’m FACE-ing (HA! I’m a genius!) is that I’m constantly attacking my skin with acids and Benzoyl Peroxide because to keep my breakouts under control. Which is great and all but 13 years of battle has made my skin relatively acne free, but it can be a bit lacklustre.

So in the last post, I mentioned I stopped by Body Shop to get some eye cream. However, this product caught my eye (to be fair it was magnificently displayed as it was only just recently launched).

First of all, the name- Drops of Light- instantly conjures thoughts of radiant, beaming, glowing skin. SOLD!

Secondly- the PACKAGING . Oh my days look at that bottle. It is stunning. And I love that it comes with a dropper which helps reduce contamination of the product dramatically. SOLD!

It is made with a blend of Red Algae Extract and a Vitamin C derivative (the packaging doesn’t make clear what concentrate of Vitamin C) and a quick scan of the ingredients tells me it also has a little Salicylic Acid in it. Perfect.

I’ve been using it during the day for the last 2 weeks or so and I’m completely in love. The serum is very lightweight and is very quickly absorbed into the skin. My skin INSTANTLY looks healthier and more glow, even under foundation. It’s a bit early to tell whether it has helped my acne scarring significantly. I think they have improved a bit, but I’m in love with the way it makes my skin look and feel. I am going to stock up before heading back to Lagos for sure.

Has anyone tried this? What serums do you currently use in your skincare routine?

Let Me Know,

Nicole

Vitamin C is always good for the skin. I use a serum by Mary Kay which has vitamin B3 and C. It’s a very good one.

Hi there Toby, thank you so much for your comment. Actually a lot of the products I’ve reviewed on the blog are mostly available abroad with the exception of the Turmeric Black Soap and the Oriki eye cream. So I think you should have a look through the website and see what you think might work for you because I also have oily skin! Thanks so much xx
