February Beauty Haul (South Africa Beauty Adventures pt. 2)

Like I said in the previous post, I had NO idea that SA had all the big international beauty brands. At the Victoria Wharf mall in Cape Town, I discovered South Africa’s answer to Sephora- EDGAR’S! (which is one of the country’s largest fashion and beauty retailers)

I was so impressed by their beauty department. I mean, just look at it.

So… lets take a look at what I got shall we?? (Sorry everything looks squished in the picture, the packaging did not survive the plane trip clearly)

Clarins Super Restorative Eye Concentrate– I’ve spoken about it HERE on the blog. I love using it in the mornings because it fills out any fine lines nicely and reduces puffiness.

Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Noir Intense– I started using this eyeliner in 2007 and I have never looked back. It is pretty long lasting even with my oily lids , and it is an intense black with no weird blue or green undertones. Love love love.

MAC ‘Spiked’ Brow Pencil– Another old favourite although I’m low-key dying to try the Anastasia Beverly Hills one.

MAC ‘Cork’ Lip Pencil– Cork is loved by basically every beauty person on the planet. I only just got into lipliner a few months ago and honestly lipliner makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE. I cannot believe I have been dulling like this my whole life. Bought this to try it out and I’ve worn it pretty much everyday since. It is a beautiful brown that completes any Nude lip look, or you could use it all over your lips for the increasingly popular Matte Brown Lip.

Also, buying beauty products in South Africa is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than buying in London or the U.S. For example, I usually get my Clarins Super Restorative Total Eye Concentrate from Nordstrom and it currently retails for $84. I got it here for 860 Rand which comes up to $54. My beloved Chanel eyeliner is 300 Rand ($18) and is at Nordstrom for $33 and £23 at Debenhams. Incredible!

Looks like I have to find friends in South Africa to buy my beauty stuff IN THIS ECONOMY. If you live in SA holla at me LOL!

And thats it. Have you tried any of these products or shopped at Edgar’s?

      Hi Bestie!
I had the absolute best time in SA, you are so lucky to live there! Do you live in Cape Town as well?

Naeto’s skin is almost painful to look at. It is actually perfect. I pray my children inherit his skin not mine.

The difference in the prices of beauty products in SA really blew my mind. ANOTHER reason why I should be living there and not in Lagos. I may actually take you up on your offer please! Thank you so much gorgeous xx

Oh what the heck, I’ve only gone and bought myself some make up to cheer me up ! I did a little splurgy splurge on Chanel… I bought me some Rouge Allure Velvet lippy and the Le volume mascara. Never bought Chanel make up EVER!!! I always thought red lipstick never ever looked good on dark skin, then I saw Rihanna wear it so beautifully.
So, if you hear about a terrible gridlock or road closure in any part of the world, just know it’s yours truly crossing the road wearing my rouge lipstick..hehehe!!!

The lipstick is great. I will buy the lip liner so it properly defines my lips for full on effect.
The mascara was one i wanted to try , no thanks to Hirons. It does what it says on the tin.
