Get Ready for Valentine’s Day with Me

Valentine’s Day is almost here ladies! Not sure what Naeto and I are doing yet but there will probably be food involved (no champagne or wine sadly. Lent.). Most likely dinner. I’d actually like to have sushi. But I digress. Anyways, here’s a post on how I plan on getting ready for our date this Sunday.

Threading My Brows

I get my brows and other pesky facial hair (I’m Igbo okay?) threaded by my girl Stella of Stella’s Addiction in Lekki phase 1. She’s quick, efficient and hilarious! You’ll definitely leave with a smile on your face. Brows frame the face, so give them a quick tidy up- it’ll make a noticeable difference. I’ll do this the day before (Saturday) so any irritation or redness will definitely be gone by Sunday the 14th.

Up My Water and Green Tea Intake

I’m all about the SKINTIGHT dresses all the time #Ratchet so in order to love svelte and snatched, especially as I fell off the healthy bandwagon epically in Cape Town, I’ll need to up my green tea intake to help burn belly fat and prevent any bloating on the day. Water would also help in reducing bloat AND will make my skin smooth and healthy looking. Read more about how green tea and water are essential for beautiful skin HERE.

Body Exfoliation

I plan on using the Luminous Scrubbie Bar by Bath Kandy on the day to remove any dead skin and leave my skin glowing and baby soft! I adore this product actually, and you can read more about it HERE.

Shave My Legs

My Bath Kandy Turmeric and Black Pepper Soap is perfect for shaving actually because it has a shea butter base which gives you a much smoother shave.

Quick Tip- If you don’t have this or shaving gel, try using hair conditioner on your legs before shaving! Crazy but true. It leaves your legs silky smooth.

Do a Turmeric and Bentonite Clay Mask

This will deeply purify my pores and hopefully keep my skin breakout free. I’ll probably do this today (Thursday)  in case any purging occurs. Read more about this brightening, blemish fighting mask HERE.

Makeup and Hair

I only recently started wearing red lipstick after FINALLY finding my perfect shade which is Dubonnet by MAC (I used it in the picture above) but I will most likely skip this altogether and go with nude lips and super dark eyes which is my go-to look. Hair will be down and in loose waves.

And that’s it. Hope everyone has an amazing Valentine’s Day. And if you don’t have a partner that’s okay too. Take the day to treat yourself!

What are your Valentine Day Plans? How do YOU plan on getting ready?

I love teas, i use to be addicted to green tea but discovered other amazing ones my skin and digestive system loved and reduced my green tea intake, i have a whole lot of organic tea collection (chamomile, rooibos. cinammon, nettle, etc).
If you shave your legs at home, you should try the moom organic hair removal kit with tea tree, amazing result.
I’ve seen lots of reviews about turmeric and bentonite clay mask but i’m too addicted to kbeauty’s skinfood sugar mask to give anything else a try. Is the turmeric cooling on the skin? I have sensitive and acne-prone skin, would you recommend it?
Looking to to try this popular japanese exfoliator called Cure natural aqua gel and the konjac sponge this year, have you tried any of them before?
    Have an amazing Valentine’s day.

      Hi Onyinye!
I also love teas and have an extensive collection- kindred spirits!

I think you will love the Turmeric + Bentonite clay mask. I wouldn’t describe turmeric as cooling. But it definitely soothes skin because of its anti inflammatory properties. I would recommend it to anyone, but for sensitive skin make sure you mix with water and not Apple Cider Vinegar (some people mix with ACV and have amazing results, I personally only use water). I would also say make your mask a lighter consistency by adding a little more water.

I haven’t heard of the Cure natural aqua gel, but I have heard amazing things about the konjac sponge. I MIGHT give the sponge a try but I am super content with my Hot Cloth Cleanse method.

Wishing you an amazing Valentine’s day too! If you try the mask, please let me know how it goes xx

Thanks, I will consider the mask and let you know how it turned out, if the konjac doesn’t work for me, i will try the hot cloth cleansing method.

Nicole on the wheels!!! 😉 This valentine isn’t a small something!

The reference to being an Igbo girl after facial hair got me LOL. I usually use warm water+hair conditioner when shaving then apply shea butter afterwards. Why don’t you wax Nicole?
The red lipstick suits you very much.

Hi there! Good to have you back hun!
Valentine’s isn’t a small something for me oh lol. I also use shea butter after shaving but with almond oil too.
I don’t wax because I don’t like having to wait for leg hair to grow out and then waxing again in 3 weeks. I’d rather just shave my legs every two days and be done with it. Plus it is much cheaper IN THIS ECONOMY lol. Also thank you for saying that about the lipstick, I’m still trying to build my confidence with it to be honest. xx

Please Nicole, does green tea fight ONLY or majorly belly fat?

Hi love! It fights belly fat majorly, but is also great for your metabolism, which in turn fights general fat. Tea is life xx

Woah I love your valentine’s day beauty treat…reminds me of nights out with my girls…I basically do like everything that evening…facials, then tong my hair, shave my legs, exfoliate, makeup and do my nails…all dolled up and pretty already. But sadly I don’t do that all at once anymore prolly becos when me and the hubs go out we have to go with our lil girl so its kinda all too much for me but now I think I can still do all but break it done in days like you’ve done prior to our outing. Then I have bin staying off a lot of beauty products lately because am expecting my second and don’t want to use any chemicals as am not sure whats good and whats not…besides I feel like none is working for me. so I have just bin using Dettol soap the original and guess what it works and moisturize with clinque dramatically different lotion. I settled on the clinque 3 step range which I got in south Africa but only doing the moisturizer for now like I said bin pregnant now. well am not sure anyways..confused about it actually cos to be honest sometimes I get obsessed and just indulge in my all my beauty routine both bentonite clay, turmeric, sunscreen and eye cream and lots of hair products. I don’t want pregnancy breaking my hair…lol

I love your blog. Ive been following it but never commented. Hope st. valentine’s day went well for you. I like most of the products you review here, but living on my limited student budget and the owu breeze blowing the economy of this country,I usually just google the products and look for alternatives in natural things. E.g I loved the eyecream thingy,so I started using a homemade mixture of coconut oil + vitamin e oil + beewax. Ive been on it for a month now and I loveeeeeee the improvement, though little. Another beauty secret I discovered was using rosewater + a tiny drop of lime in it for my hands and feet.

Your eye cream mix sounds dope. What exactly does the Rosewater + Lime mix do for your hands and feet? Let me know please! xx

It serves as a moisturiser and toner for the hands and feet. And it helps prevent dark knuckles for ladies who use extreme skin lightening products. Sorry for my late reply,I was caught up with exams.

Hi there! Green tea is great for belly fat if you are consistent with it. Please push hubby out of the way and grab ALL of it lol! I drink about 1 litre of tea, but 3 cups is fine xx
