Lancome Haul (Review)

Hello Beautiful People!

Hope everyone had a great week. So crazy how we are basically halfway through April already. Where is time going??? Before we get into today’s post, I want to thank everyone for the IMMENSE support for TheNicoleCode X BathKandy collaboration. Everything went better than we anticipated actually, and due to high demand we are so pleased to announce that we’ve done ANOTHER batch of the products for you to enjoy! Yes, you read correctly! The Nicole Soap, The Radiant Rice Facial Scrub and the MOTHER of all moisturisers- The Rice Milk Lotion are all available AGAIN to purchase. This batch is a bit smaller though, so please visit the online store (www.bathkandy.com) or go down to the flagship store (36 Wole Ariyo, Lekki) to pick up your goodies as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.  All the ladies that sent me angry emails- this is your chance! Lol

So….lets talk about Lancome! If you follow me on IG (you don’t? Follow me @thenicolecode for daily doses of beauty and other random interesting things) you’d see that I put up a picture of some beautiful Lancome products I received. Here’s a quick review of the La Vie Est Belle Perfume and the Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara

La Vie Est Belle

I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned here that I am VERY PICKY with fragrances. There are very few perfumes I’ve tried and liked because I find most scents overwhelming. Last year, I discovered YSL Manifesto which I had been using regularly until I discovered this one.

This is officially my FAVOURITE fragrance. For some reason, it just works for me. I literally get compliments from everyone who is near enough to smell me. Sidebar- you actually have to be near me or hug me to smell me. Ladies, please perfume is supposed to be a sensual whisper, not a SLAP IN THE FACE TO ANYONE WHO WALKS IN THE ROOM. So sorry to rant, but it kills my soul when people’s perfume arrives before them.

Its Top Notes are Blackcurrant and Pear

Heart Notes- Iris, Orange Blossoms and Jasmine

Base Notes- Patchouli and Vanilla (my favourite!!)

Its delicious, womanly and lasts ALL day. If you are looking to try out a new scent then I heartily encourage you to give this a try.

Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara

I like this a lot actually. It is not as heavy duty or dramatic as the Too Faced ‘Better Than Sex’ mascara which I’ve mentioned HERE , so I find myself wearing this more during the day. I love that it is virtually clump free (I think thats because the mascara wand is quite thin) and gives my lashes additional length and a little volume. It is long lasting too, and it does not flake at all which is awesome.

And that’s it folks. What is your current favourite fragrance? What is your current favourite mascara? Have you tried any of these?

Let me know,

Nicole

    Now she speaks my language!!!!!.
I have La vie est belle. Haven’t opened it yet but l’ve had a whiff or two and it smells of unicorns, fairies and all things beautiful.
I have lancome mascara that’s from their very first range. It’s not as good as my Chanel (wink wink), but my cousin uses the exact one you have on here, and she won’t let somebori hear word. She swears that Eros follows her as she sashays down the streets of London. So there you go nwanne m! You know berra tinz!

Hello my love! LOLLLL @ unicorns and fairies. It smells of Rainbows, Hope, and Pixie Dust! I’m the biggest Chanel eye makeup fan actually, so I am completely with you- but this mascara is great. I quite like it, it helps me not be ratchet all the time because I like my lashes overdone. This gives you a dramatic but much more natural lash than I’m used to. It is good stuff xx

Oh how I have tried to love La vie est belle but the headaches won’t let me be. Just a whiff and I get it instantly! Maybe with time. I currently use the cult classic, Lancôme deficils and it is amazeballs!! The hypnose for me was just bleh, clumps, dries out fast so you get the real effect only in the early days. After that, it’s a struggle. I honestly think the magic in mascara is firstly, the wand and then the formula. For these reasons, I can’t wait to try this! Love the wand already! I also use Urban Decay’s Perversion which is pretty cool too and quite dramatic so is best suited for night use:
