Luxé Beauty Lounge Haul

I’d seen the salon on Wole Ariyo in Lekki, but I properly discovered this brand at the Beauty Africa Conference a few weeks ago (for the scoop on other discoveries there, have a read HERE).

Luxé is a beauty brand after my own heart because most of the ingredients for their hair and skin products are natural. Everything looks and smells so good! I mean just look at some of their stuff.

The product I was most interested in at the Conference was the 100% Goats Milk Lotion but it had sold out sadly! However Blondie (the owner) was kind enough to notify me when it got back in stock (fortunately just a few days later) and I braved the heavy Lekki traffic that day to get to the store. Got my hands on The Precious, and on a whim got the Luminous Exfoliating Bar aka Garri Scrub because Blondie told me it was something worth experiencing at least once in your lifetime. HA! FIGHTING WORDS I thought.

Oh Blondie, you were so right.

After showering with my usual soap, I got the Garri bar wet (as per the instructions) and rubbed all over my body. It is actually quite soft as it is PACKED with different oils which is not what i was expecting. I thought it would be much grittier. I let this sit for a few minutes and then rinsed off. Then I towel dried myself.

Guys. This bar makes your skin sooooooo supple and smooth and MOISTURISED. It is fantastic, and it smells so so good. It has a citrus-y, lemongrass-y scent. When I use this I leave my bathroom door open so the smell can get into my room.Get this scrub. Trust me. Hard day at work?Cancelled. Dry flaky skin?Cancelled. Problems with your boo? Use this tonight and they are CANCELLED.

On to my new Bae- the Goats Milk Lotion. It is gorgeous. I have used it twice a day since I got it, and I actually went back to the store yesterday to buy some more (true story) because I don’t ever want to be without it.

Goats Milk has a high content of Alpha Hydroxy Acids, and AHAs are great for cell turnover and keeping skin luminous and youthful. Goats Milk is also loaded with lots of vitamins to feed your skin. This lotion also has a delicious vanilla scent, so your skin looks yummy and smells yummy too. Wins all round! It also has a great consistency- was a bit nervous that the lotion would be thin and watery like actual Goats Milk. But its about the same thickness as regular lotion.

I’m so impressed with this brand in general and cannot wait to see what other fabulous skin treats they come up with.

Have you been to Luxé before or tried any of these products?

Let me know,

Hi Susu. The lotion is for everyone. Like I said in the previous comment to you I don’t review products for ‘dark skin’ or ‘light skin’. All the products I talk about are for everyone. And this particular lotion I am talking about is only available at the Luxe Beauty Lounge (Wole Ariyo street, Lekki Phase 1). And it is a body lotion so I wouldn’t recommend using it on your face.Hope this was helpful 🙂

Garri scrub ke?????? Hmmmmmm! Interesting I must say!!! I will definitely love to try this simply out of curiosity.
Goat milk is great for the skin so I think that will work but I will pass on that one as I’m still so in love with my almond oil which is my daily moisturizer.

Hi Nicole. .great job???.I have a problem with my face
I have a dark patch under my chin..I have tried everything you can imagine to tone it but instead my face gets lighter and the patch gets darker.. i use my body lotion on my face…is there any face cream you can recommend pleeeaaase does the goat milk lotion tone the skin?not bleach ooooo..thank you so much

    • Nicole
Posted at 20:06h, 24 October Reply

Hi Shina. Don’t use body lotion on your face. For the dark patch i’d recommend a vitamin c serum. There are several brands available. But you need to give it time to work. The vitamin c serum should address any hyperpigmentation issues.
As for bleaching and toning, my sister I don’t know what the actual difference is oh. The only ‘toning’ I know is using a Toner (i.e. an Acid Exfoliator) after cleansing your skin and before moisturizing.
The Goats Milk lotion does not lighten the skin, it renews it and makes it appear younger and more luminous. Its really nice. Hope this was helpful.

Hi Nichole, just got to learn abt ur blog. Pls can u recommend what I can use on my face? I have dark spots and pimples which has led to uneven skin tone. Really bothers me. I also need lotion and soap for my body pls. Tnk you.

Posted at 19:51h, 11 November Reply

Hi Jenny. Thank you so much for your comment. For uneven skin tone, the best thing to do would probably be to try a Vitamin C serum like the one I discussed on the Jumia Haul post on this website. In this particular post I mentioned a lotion I’ve been using and that I like very much. You can also have a look on the Luxe Beauty Lounge website as they have a variety of soaps for different skin concerns. Hope this was helpful xx
P.S My name is spelt Nicole not Nichole. Thanks Jenny!

Hello Nicole, does this lotion leave a dewy glow on the skin or it moisturizes and leaves the skin matte.

      Hi Imade,
Definitely a dewy glow initially, but as it is a lotion eventually the skin appears matte. Its a great product xx
